Marco Molteni
Marco Molteni was born in Como, Italy, in 1962. He studied composition with Luciano Chailly and Giuseppe Giuliano, and electronic music with Riccardo Sinigaglia at the Conservatory of Music of Milan, earning his diplomas in 1985 and 1988. He further refined his skills through advanced courses at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena with Franco Donatoni, the Atelier de Recherche Instrumental at IRCAM in Paris, and the Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt.
Molteni’s works have been recognized in numerous international competitions, including Gaudeamus Music Week, the International “Casella” Competition, Icons Torino, the Guido d’Arezzo International Competition, Festival WNMD Sydney 2010, the IBLA Grand Prize New York, the MUSLAB International Festival of Electroacoustic Music in Mexico, and the NYCEMF Electroacoustic Music Festival in New York. His music has been performed at prestigious venues such as IRCAM, Chigiana Novità Siena, Festival Antidogma Torino, Ferienkurse für Neue Musik Darmstadt, Gaudeamus Music Week in Amsterdam, Nuove Sincronie Milano, and the International Review of Composers in Belgrade.
His compositions have been broadcast by Radio France, RAI Radiotelevisione Italiana, ABC Sydney, and CBC Toronto, and published by BMG Ricordi, Arspublica, and Universal Edition Wien. His music can be found online at rmnmusic.com/marco-molteni/ .
